Fondwa, Haiti – Fatima Orphanage

The Need:

Fondwa, Haiti is home to Fatima Orphanage and the 50+ children who live there. There has always been a struggle to get clean water for the village and orphanage for drinking, cooking and public health. They need bath houses and cisterns to help keep their community healthy.

Our Response:

BarnRaisers of Indiana accepted the challenge and raised $25k for the Fatima Orphanage at our 3rd Annual Golf Outing. The funds were contributed through the group Family Health Ministries that works in Fondwa.

The Result:

The money we spend in Haiti will help the children and community thrive so that they can live a healthy life.  The $25k will build several bathhouses and cisterns which in turn will increase public health and wellness.

What Others are Saying:

“Family Health Ministries is thankful for the collaboration with BarnRaisers.  We are thankful to have a team of people who understand the challenges children in Haiti face and are focused to help bring about positive change.  Because of the efforts of BarnRaisers, the Fatima Orphanage has the opportunity to increase their public health through a bath house and water cistern. The Fatima community will have a dining hall to share meals, prayers and enjoy recreation. The fingerprints of the BarnRaisers are left throughout the Fondwa community. Thank you for the compassion you have poured out on the community.”
